The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive means that all buildings constructed, rented or sold require an Energy Performance Certificate.

Energy Performance Certificates

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are a visual colour graphic, similar to those you may have seen attached to 'fridges and washing machines etc., but which also have a recommendation report giving various energy saving measures that a new occupier may wish to consider installing.

HIBEC Ltd are authorised to provide Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) to newly constructed dwellings and all non-domestic property.

As SAP/SBEM assessors, we can issue the predicted energy assessment (PEA) as part of the 'as designed' SAP calculation. On completion of the project, the Building Control Officer will require a full 'as constructed' EPC and recommendation report.

Commercial Buildings

HIBEC Ltd can undertake EPCs on newly constructed commercial property or existing buildings which are to be rented or sold.

Older property will almost certainly require a site survey, as the actual services and internal layout are key elements in the calculation, so accurate up-to-date data is required.

Display Energy Certificates

All public buildings over 1000m2 will be required by October 2008 to display an Energy Certificate in a prominent place.

HIBEC Ltd will produce these certificates using the approved software.
