Solar Overheat Calculations           New Buildings   Existing Buildings

The building regulations require that new non-domestic buildings do not overheat as a result of solar gains.

Two methods of demonstrating compliance are given in the approved document, both of which can be undertaken by HIBEC Ltd.

We can undertake simple Solar Overheat calculations using CIBSE TM32 or, for more complex buildings, we can run a Thermal Model using sophisticated simulation software.

With curtain walling, atria and displacement ventilation systems becoming more popular, it makes sense to run the SBEM on the simulation software and ensure the solar requirements are achieved as early as possible in the deign process.

So no matter if it's a new build or a small extension, we often find that if you get us involved early enough we can save you money.
